Allergy card: a new tool for food allergy sufferers
When inspiration struck for this product, following a trip to the Dominican Republic, I knew that I wanted to see it through. For me, for my daughter, and to help other people in our situation.
I know this isn’t going to be a product with mass market appeal, and that’s fine with me. My primary goal with Je suis une maman is to support families in their day-to-day lives. If this product can bring a little relief to their daily reality, then it’s mission accomplished for me.
As you know, I love to travel. It helps me grow as a person, brings me pleasure and relaxation, and helps me appreciate each moment and live life to the fullest. Every time I go off on a new adventure, I come back better for it. So it’s essential to me that I impart this love of travel with my children. I don’t want my daughter’s food allergies to stop them or get in the way of seeing and discovering the world.
To facilitate communication in other languages, I created a trilingual card, which I unveiled during our Facebook live event.
Available in four colours (red, blue, green and purple), this plasticized card is designed to fit easily into your wallet. Allergen stickers let you customize each card: just affix the appropriate sticker(s) to the card for each child, and voilà! The stickers show internationally recognizable images of food items along with the name of the allergen in English, French and Spanish, and are water resistant. A very practical and well-designed tool to facilitate your trips abroad!
Launch offer: free delivery!
The cards (sold in packs of 2) can be purchased for $12.99 plus tax, and the allergen sticker sheets at $2.99 plus tax, from Je suis une maman’s online store.
