Ten true and inspiring quotes… from princesses

At the recent Disney Social Media Moms Celebration at Walt Disney World (WDW), one of the presentations in particular really resonated with me: Abigail Akzin, Director, Corporate Franchise Management for WDW, spoke to us about the new “Dream Big, Princess” campaign.

I really like this new direction that aims to encourage young girls not only to dream, but also to take real steps to achieve their dreams, no matter what they are – whether at school, in the arts, in sport. The video, which has more than 3 million views already, sums the campaign up well.

To wrap up the conference, a special Mother’s Day breakfast had been organized. While we ate, giant screens displayed quotes from some of Disney’s greatest and most popular princesses: Cinderella, Snow White, Rapunzel, Ariel, etc. While I watched and thought about the words, I realized how much of an impact the “Dream Big, Princess” campaign could have.

The quotes

All around me were dozens of mothers with their children, many of them little girls. The adults of tomorrow. I took a moment to really observe them. I sincerely believe this campaign will have a positive effect on youth. In the years to come, we’ll surely see its influence amongst our girls. Definitely something to watch…
